SNSD will soon become the first Korean singers to make successive appearances on several American talk shows.
According to SM Entertainment, SNSD will appear on CBS‘ premiere talk show, ‘The Late Show with David Letterman,’ on the upcoming January 31st (New York standard time). They will then appear on the popular ABC talk show, ‘LIVE! with Kelly,’ on February 1st, where they are also scheduled to perform ‘The Boys.’
On January 17th, it was announced that a special album, ‘The Boys,’ would be released in America. Even though SNSD did not have any planned activities in America from the moment that their album went on sale, they can now talk big with their successive appearances on popular television programs.
‘The Late Show with David Letterman’ airs every week, Monday through Friday, at 11:35 PM. It is CBS’ version of the late-night talk show, composed of interviews and performances. The program invites entertainers, politicians, athletes, anchors and other celebrities as guests each week. It is considered one of the top 3 talk shows in America, along with NBC‘s ‘The Tonight Show with Jay Leno‘ and ‘Late Night with Conan O’Brien‘.
SNSD’s appearance on ‘LIVE! with Kelly’ is also becoming a hot topic. ‘LIVE! with Kelly’ is a morning talk show that airs every Monday through Friday at 9:00 AM on the American channel, ABC. It replaced the highly acclaimed ‘The Oprah Winfrey Show‘ and has since become a popular program, nabbing a number 1 spot in terms of viewers’ ratings.
Their consecutive appearances on main American public television talk shows is a big step into the industry. From now on, we will just keep anticipating more success for the girls in the American market.
