T-ara’s Soyeon opens up about bullying

T-ARA SoyeonT-ara‘s Soyeon recently came forth and made a statement about bullying.

Bullying has recently emerged as a social issue in Korea, and Soyeon confessed to her own experience of bullying and being bullied.

Recently Soyeon participated in an episode of JTBC “Idol Premier” that featured girl groups and their stories about bullying, and Soyeon frankly and honestly told the story of her own experience.

Soyeon recalled her own experience of bullying and being bullied, saying, “I used to be a bully, but I was also bullied. The atmosphere in our classroom was to bully each other all the time.”

She also acknowledged that her bullying eventually came back around to hurt her. “I learned about retribution,” she said, and continued on to say that when she gave pain to others, that pain eventually came back around and was inflicted on her.

MC Kim Youngchul agreed with her statements about retribution, saying, “You reap what you sow.”

Soyeon’s episode of JTBC “Idol Premier” will broadcast on January 27th at 8:45pm.

  1. Oh dear, I’ve never thought Soyeon was a bully. She doesn’t look like that, hehehe(: She looks so meek. But WHO bullied her? -cracks knuckles-

  2. I wouldn’t screw around with any of the babes of T-ara. They all look so sweet and gentle, but I get the impression they are tough-skinned ladies who don’t take crap. (Especially Hwayoungie. The way she bit at the lens on that Japanese talk show… )

  3. Aigoo…would have never guessed that Soyeon was a bully…Heard that bullying is a really serious issue in Korea and Taiwan etc…hope everyone learns to love and care for one another! Stop Bullying!! :D
