Girls’ Generation has recently had a very successful American debut. They were featured on The Late Show with David Letterman as well as Live! With Kelly, where they put on strong performances.
Members Taeyeon, Sooyoung, Hyoyeon and Seohyun appeared in a segment of JTBC’s News 10 called Dispatch Interview. They described their feelings about being able to have such a successful beginning in the worlds largest music industry.
Sooyoung stated:
“We have all seen our own appearance in the American shows. We couldn’t believe it although we were seeing it for ourselves. I still can’t believe that this is really happening.”
Seohyun continued:
“It felt wonderful, but some of the mistakes that we made during the performances caught my attention. We told ourselves to give better performances in the future.”
Being one of the first Korean artists to appear on American broadcasts has brought Girls’ Generation great attention around the world. Even the Wall Street Journal wrote an article about their potential success in the US.
Leader Taeyeon, stated in the interview:
“It was wonderful to see people recognizing us. When we performed in Paris, there was crowd of people at the Eiffel Tower who recognized us, too. This whole thing just amazes me. I think many people recognized us because they’ve tried to see us on TV, not because we’ve become popular.”
Sooyoung added:
“Now, I have this desire to win awards in America. If AMA or Emmy are willing to call us, we’ll…”
Lastly, the ladies spoke about the paparazzi photos that embarrassed them by showing them resting very “comfortably” in a plane. They used their embarrassment, as well as ambition, to hint (more than likely to their company SM Entertainment) that they would like to get a private jet.
“If we have a chartered flight, we’ll be able to rest more comfortably. If we’re talking about going worldwide, we need a worldwide jet.”

They did fantastic job! I wouldn’t worry about a mistake or two.
Instead they should “enjoy” their fame. Enjoy life!
They are not just work-horses.
SNSD deserve that private jet…they bought millions to SM last year XD
SM was famous for being cheap and I bet they would say something like it’s their job to make their company money
but I agree with you they should get one haha

I honestly did not see any mistakes. However, I do not do the dance all the time. I thought they did an amazing job and hope they come back to the US again. Next time I will be sure to go see them and get something signed !
