SM Entertainment has stated that Girls Generation’s Asia tour set a record breaking number of ticket sales!

The group had sold over 230,000 tickets over the course of 23 concerts in 11 different cities, that’s the highest recorded amount of sales generated any Korean girl group tour outside of the country.

Girls’ Generation’s Asia tour was held in various Asian countries such as Japan, China, Singapore, Thailand, etc, with their final concert been held in Bangkok, Thailand with an audience of over 11,000 fans.

Fans went going crazy over Girls Generation’s lead songs Gee, Tell Me Your Wish (Genie), Oh!, and Hoot, causing their tour to even spark up competition between two of Thailand’s largest media outlets, True Music and TNN, who were fighting for the best coverage of the event.

Girls’ Generation expressed their love for their Asia tour by stating,

”We are so happy to receive such warm love by our fans. It was an unforgettable experience. We sincerely thank everyone who came. We will work harder to meet you guys again with a better performance.”

Meanwhile, Girls’ Generation are expected to release the DVD for their 1st Asia Tour on February 21st, 2012.
