Jang Geun Suk becomes the target of anti-Hallyu media

Actor Jang Geun Suk is once again being plagued by the annoyance of anti-Hallyu media.

On the afternoon of February 17th, an anti-Hallyu internet portal posted an article titled, “Jang Geun Suk says the food he wants to eat in Japan is Aoi Sora.” The article reported on the matter without Jang Geun Suk’s side of the story, which many suspected to be a simple slip of the tongue.

In a phone interview with OSEN, a representative of Jang Geun Suk’s agency said, “Because Jang Geun Suk is a Hallyu star, these things sometimes happen in China and Japan,” and added regretfully, “This isn’t the first time something like this has happened. We’ve been ignoring things like this for years.”

The representative followed up by saying, “Jang Geun Suk has been working very hard. Even if we cannot help the criticism from anti-Hallyu media overseas, the fact that such unfounded stories are cropping up domestically is very frustrating.”

As it turns out, a video clip of the interview surfaced, in which Jang Geun Suk was asked what food he wants to eat most in Japan. His answer to the question was “Sushi,” and the Japanese adult video actress Aoi Sora was never mentioned.

  1. LOL, wow. This is just ridiculous coming from someone of ANY country who is trying to bring down a local celebrity from his/her own country. And to top it off, using a JAV idol at that. Regardless of whether a guy is a celebrity or not, with the sheer number of adult films Sora Aoi has done which is safe to assume she now has worldwide recall, and even if we changed the situation and Geun Suk had really said that, he can’t be the man that he is by something that would be a logically acceptable, naughty remark, towards a top JAV idol who certainly wouldn’t be offended anyway?

    • The same way any rumor gets started, I think. One person says something, and other people spread it, and before you blink everyone is repeating it and no one remembers where it came from.

  2. I would not worry too much about this at all.

It some —- who are jealous about “Hallyu” wave.
And such a behavior are quite frankly beneath the Asian values.
But most of —- are followers of “Hallyu.” Heck, the “Hallyu” started with them.
