SM Entertainment recently purchased a travel agency in Hawaii called “Happy Hawaii”.

The entertainment giant has revealed plans on changing the name to SM Town Travel and starting their own travel/tourism business.

SM Town Travel will use the popularity of K-Pop and SM Entertainment’s image to create and endorse their travel packages.

The President of SM Entertainment, Kim Jung Hyun, said,

“We are going to present services and products that differentiate from the standard travel agencies and will continue to work to make SM both a global entertainment agency as well as a lifestyle agency.”

This is a huge step for SM Entertainment, although it does seem like a strange step.

The new travel agency may however, open up more doorways for K-Pop fans from all around the world to be more connected to their favorite stars, if opportunities do arise in future.
