IU released her debut Japanese single, Good Day, on March 21st, and it claimed #6 on the Oricon daily charts. Though it didn’t claim the #1 spot, there’s still a chance IU’s single will reach #1 on the Oricon weekly charts.

IU held a showcase earlier in January where she showed off her 3 octave singing ability. She charmed many fans and received high praises all around for her talent.

IU will continue her Japanese promotions with this strong start and will promote through various Japanese TV stations and shows. Hopefully ‘Good Day’ climbs higher on the charts, and hopefully when her first official Japanese album lands, it’ll claim the #1 spot.
