SM Entertainment are set to issue company stock to their artists to increase its capital by around a billion won. They’re issuing it to artists such as Girls’ Generation, Super Junior, BoA, Kang Ta, TVXQ, SHINee, and f(x).
According to the Korean Financial Supervisory Service, a total of 22,120 stocks will be issued at 44,550 won per stock. That’s a total increase of about 978,810,000 won for SM Entertainment.
Artists like BoA, SNSD, Super Junior, and TVXQ will receive 680 stocks per member, while groups like SHINee and f(x) will only receive 340 stocks for each member.
SM Entertainment stated,
“We wanted to issue stocks to our artists in order to strengthen the partnership between them and the company. We hope that these stocks will encourage the artists to share SM Entertainment’s vision and get more actively involved in it.”
