Boyfriend is receiving special treatment as they look to enter the Japanese market.
Debuting just last year with their single ‘Boyfriend,’ followed by ‘Don’t Touch My Girl‘ and then ‘I’ll Be There,’ the winners of the Best Rookie Award at the Golden Disk Awards, Boyfriend, has signed a contract with Japanese agency Bing, which manages top Japan stars like B’z, ZARD and Kuraki Mai.
Their Japanese special album will be go on sale on June 6th, and on June 30th, they will have their debut showcase at the Budokan, with a seating space of 10,000. It’s even difficult for Japanese artists to secure this venue, so it’s quite unprecedented and special that a rookie Korean group is able to have a showcase at the Budokan.
Their agency Starship Entertainment explained,
“Since their debut, we’ve received many love calls from Japanese agencies. To guarantee that our artists have the best activities, we made the final decision to work in synergy with one of Japan’s largest record companies Bing. Our Japanese partner will take advantage of Boyfriend’s high-class visuals and polished skills. We cannot disclose the details of the contract, but they will be receiving the best star treatment.”
