Big Bang to end domestic activities on April 29th's Inkigayo

Idol group Big Bang‘s domestic activities are coming to an end.

On April 25th, a representative from YG Entertainment commented, “Big Bang’s performance on April 29th’s SBS Inkigayo will be their final domestic activity for their ‘ALIVE’ mini-album, and they’ll be going on tour in Japan.”

Beginning with a world tour kickoff concert in Seoul in early March, Big Bang have had a variety of promotions for this mini-album. They have also received a lot of attention for their unconventional promotional techniques, which involved all 7 songs on the album being considered “title songs”.

Of those songs, “FANTASTIC BABY” has enjoyed incredible success, staying near the top of music charts from its release until now. The album has sold upwards of 270,000 copies, making it one of the best-selling records released this year.

Additionally, the mini-album “ALIVE” rose to the #150 position on Billboard‘s “Billboard 200″ music chart without any formal promotion, a first for a Korean group in the United States. The group also became the first Korean artist to have their photo featured on the main page of the Grammy Awards.

In Taiwan, the album swept music charts to hold the #1 position, and their Seoul concert in March had the most Japanese viewers in history.

From the time that Big Bang finishes their domestic activities, they are scheduled to begin an arena tour in Japan, which will land in 13 different cities and is expected to draw 150,000 people.
